I doubt if this is the problem, but you should use "tell application"  
instead of "using terms from", unless this is part of an attached  
script.

What version of OS? I know there have been problems with changing the  
page range via script with some versions of the OS. But the plate  
should work. Is thecolor a string for spot colors and one of the  
enums for process colors? It usually helps if you include the entire  
script when asking questions like this.
