Will the RGB headshot be separated to CMY, or just be on K? From my testing, I get a headshot that is separating to CMYK, no matter what the Output profile is (None, CMYK Default, or Day CMYK).

If the Output Profile is None, then the RGB image is just on the black plate, with no CMY plates having information. If the Output Profile is CMYK Default or Day CMYK (our custom profile) then the RGB image is separated.

Ok, after further testing, here are my conclusions, for when 'Convert RGB to CMYK when generating Postscript or PDF' is UNchecked:
1) When printing from C7 and choosing Process separations, C7 assumes you want RGB converted to CMYK, and will do so.
2) When Exporting an EPS from C7, when your document's Output Profile is CMYK, C7 assumes you want RGB converted to CMYK, and will do so.
3) When Exporting an EPS from C7, when your document's Output Profile is None, C7 will look to the 'Convert RGB to CMYK when generating Postscript or PDF' option to determine whether or not to retain the RGB info in the EPS.
I am going to submit a feature request so that a TIP can be written into the C8 User Guide for this Preference (which seems to be new since it isn't in my C7 User Guide :).
thank you for listening,
chris
