Nope. The only problem you'll probably ever see from a corrupt prefs  
file is Nav Services dialogs (open, save, etc) crashing or acting  
strangely. Any other corruption would most likely cause C7 and  
earlier to crash. C8 will just get bad values because it uses the  
OS's prefs mechanism.
