Apple's "Font Book" and Creator

[More Sugar]

We have an issue with fonts being different on different machines. One 
machine has OSX (10.3.9) installed over OS9, the others were clean 
installs of OSX. Im guessing the OS9 font folder may be to blame (???). 
Can I just delete that folder entirely, then (hopefully) the newer (OSX) 
versions of those fonts will be used on all three machines?
