Selecting Overflowed text

it is the only block in the flow....

there are carriage returns.
no block breaks.

for instance:

Assorted
Poland Spring
Natural Spring Water

"Natural Spring Water would be cut off after the word Spring.  I'd put  
the insertion point before the word Natural and then use the  
aforementioned keystrokes to try to get the word Water along with the  
words Natural and Spring to all be selected, so that when I apply the  
keystrokes to reduce the horizontal scale they all scale at the same  
rate.  Usually it doesn't work the way I hope and the first two words  
get scaled, but the word Water stays at the percentage it was.
