It's also helpful to look at other scripts and figure out how they work, and to read through the dictionary for the app you want to script, which you do by using the Open Dictionary menu item in Script Editor. Your script will be a bit complicated because it involves counting all of the border files (ignoring non-border files like .DS_Store files) contained within all of the folders contained in Creator's Border Files folder, then iterating through those border files n at a time, where n is the number of borders you have on your page. It would replace all n borders on the page with the next n border files, then print. If you just need to get this done and don't have the time to read a book and all that, contact me off-list and we'll figure out something. _________________________________________________________ Steve Mills Me: 952-401-6255 Senior Software Architect MultiAd smills@multiad.com www.multi-ad.com From taffolder at fwn.fortwayne.com Thu Jul 17 07:48:28 2008 From: taffolder at fwn.fortwayne.com (Tami Affolder) Date: Thu Jul 17 07:48:57 2008 Subject: Colors in Creator 8 Message-ID: We have Creator 8, and I have noticed when some designers do an ad with certain colors they show up & print with different looking colors, example there is a burst and an arrow, suppose to be the same color, and on the screen it looks the same but when printing they are different colors. The publisher here doesn't enforce a deadline for customers to submit ads, so we are always down to the wire. > Having said that, it looks like your background gradient is a single rectangle with two gradient points near the middle. Have you tried replacing it with two solid squares (blue & green), covered in the middle by a narrow gradient rectangle with the points left at their default positions? Yes, Steve suggested that also. That's what I ended up doing. I have a BIT more time to finagle earlier in the month, & it will save me the extra step during paste-up. Cheers! Message-ID: <689D1752-17B0-4AA1-BF11-2860BEA3E500@wacondatrader.com> We're running Creator 8 on a mix of PowerPCs and Intel Macs, and MacOS X 10.4.11. I recently upgraded a license of Photoshop 7 to the basic Design Creative Suite 3 (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, InDesign). I'm planning on upgrading our other 2 PS 7 licenses to the same CS3 suite. The CS3 installer offers to install extra fonts. Also, the latest version of iWorks offers to install fonts as well, and also FileMaker, which we use for our ad run sheet. Are the fonts with these packages OK to use with Creator 8? We have a CD with a bunch of Bitstream Fonts - Type 1 PostScript, that we have a company wide site license for, and we manage those with the latest version of Font Agent Pro, and those seem to do will reliability wise (both computer/ application stability and reliable final PDF and document printing). I've heard that some/most/all of those fonts included with these applications mentioned are OpenType and there has been some issues with Creator and them, but thought I'd double check.
