Creator issue with Apple Chancery

I am running OS X 10.5.2 on dual intel mac with Creator 8.0.2

I actually hadn't tried the character pallet, that works but is kind of 
a hassle compared to just typing them normally.  Typically (in os 10.4) 
i would simply type the number '4' and then set the font as dingbats and 
get a check mark.  This still works in illustrator and indesign in os 
10.5.  Is this ability going to be returned to creator in the future?

For now I can use the character pallet at least, just takes a bit longer.

Thanks for the info, that will save me a lot of hassle compared to not 
being able to use them.
