Strange PDF header? problem

Do y'all use a program to preflight your pdfs? We use a program called Speedflow and it can be setup to change color, photo resolution etc. to what it needs to be for newsprint. When we get a pdf from an outside client we run it thru Speedflow and then put it into Creator. We are on a pc platform.
