Gradients in PDFs

Okay; I've uploaded some sample images to help explain.

This is what the file SHOULD look like -- PV disco FP 082508.jpg.

PV disco FP exp pdf.jpg was EXPORTED as a PDF.

PV disco FP pdf.jpg was PRINTED to a PDF.

Any ideas on why this is happening, or, more importantly, how to fix?

Creator 7.0.5
Mac OSX 10.3.9
Adobe Acrobat 7.0
