OT Acrobat Pro find original PDF res.

I think that one's ability to determine resolution for images within
a PDF would depend on the software that is being used for
preflighting, such as Pitstop or Asura, for example.

If you're just working within Acrobat, you can use your touch-up
object tool and opt-double click on all raster images. They will open
in Photoshop, and you can get the resolution there. Alternatively, if
you use the Box of Tricks plug-in, there is an info panel that will
give you the size in pixels and the resolution when you select each
image.

Also, Acrobat 8 has some built-in preflighting capability (I believe
that v. 6 & 7 may have some as well). In Acrobat 8, go to Advanced >
Preflight and choose a check from the digital printing or prepress
categories. If you don't want to apply fix-ups, which would change
your file, check the box that says "Run Preflight Profile without
applying Fixups". Again, this is for Acrobat 8, so earlier versions
may not be exactly the same.
